Dancing

Life at pixiedust is never boring we are always busy and the same goes for our 15 year old daughter who fills her spare time, boxing, playing hockey and ice skating.! This week she asked if she could learn to lindy hop! after doing some research we found some local classes and she hopes to learn in the new year, 

Well researching this for her I found some wonderful dance websites and wanted to share this one with you.

Puff the MAgic Dragon

I often get distracted when ordering costumes and today was no different. I was happily ordering christmas costumes, robins, santa beards and other seasonal costumes. But i was soon side tracked and started to think back to my child hood  and puff the magic dragon music popped into my head. and very soon I was stocking a very unseasonal dragon costume! I also looked into puff the magic dragon and came up with these interesting facts.
Puff, the Magic Dragon" is a Song written by  leonard Lipton and peter Yarrow
The lyrics tell a story of the ageless dragon Puff and his playmate Jackie Paper, a little boy who grows up and loses interest in the imaginary adventures of childhood and leaves Puff alone and depressed. The story of the song takes place "by the sea" in the fictional land of Honalee.

During the Viethnam War  the Ac -47 Spooky  gunship was nicknamed "Puff the Magic Dragon", after the song.

Children in need

Its that time of year agin when christmas is creeping ever nearer, and terry Wogan take over the tv for the complete night to get us all to dig deep into our pockets to help raise money for children in need. Their mission is to make a positive change to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK. In 2009, The BBC Children in Need Appeal raised over £39 million which will be used to support projects across the UK .

This year Pudsey bear is asking you to show your spots at pixiedust we love how imaginative our costumers are, we have sold lots of spotty tights, Dalmatian costumes and fun face paints for spotty face painting.

We would love to hear what you are doing this year to show your spots.

We have at found them indoor fireworks , they where around in the 80’s but then disappeared  but this year we have them perfect for all you little  indoor pyrotechnics.

wonderland face art

I love looking at face painters websites, its so interesting seeing each artists style, and when i came across lisa’ website from wonderland face art i wanted to share it with you.

Have  a look for yourself, lisa will arrive dressed for the occasion, either as a fairy princess for the girls or a pirate for the boys.  

My favorite part of her web site was her bump painting, I like the face that her service is extended to the other children in the family and offers to paint them and include them in the photos that she takes. lisa even promises to cover stretch marks .

Face and body convention

Its been a very buy month and with halloween still 10 days away its going to be a while before things calm down.

I have just looked at the last blog I did it was a month ago and so much has happened and is happening. 

The big event in team pixies calender was the face and body convention . we had a great weekend selling wolfe face a body paints, shelli from wolfe came over from the sates to help with the stand and kurt and april from wolfe where over running a class.

I meet some amazing people and made some great new friends.

We brought over lots of wolfe products to sell at the show and we also brought over enough to stock the shelves of the pixiedust warehuse and we now have one of each colour and every size plus all the wolfefx  glitters , brushes and those amazing wolfe high density sponges.
